Just in case you forgot

This kid:

...is evil

Does anyone know how to change iTunes back to normal? Dan changed the end times of some of my songs. Help me take the wind out of his sails.

Get to this soon Spidey, cause G8R might find a way to delete it:

- Select the song that you're having a problem with.
- If you have a mac select the Open Apple key (next to the space bar) and i. (Or go to the file menu, scroll down until you are at the "Get Info" selection.
- Once the window opens up about the song, select the heading that says "Options".
- Then adjust the start / stop time, whichever is not what it normally should be.

There you go. I only know because G8R did it to me a couple of years ago. My only hope is that by ruining his fun I get a little bit back from my previous plight.

Since this blog has recently become an un-official iTunes advice forum, I thought now would be a good time to ask help from all you mac geniuses...

What's the best way to copy all my songs and playlists from my PC onto my new MacBook? Or is it even possible?

Thanks! :)

Whoa, whoa, wait a sec. What did G8R ever do to harm anybody? Don't let that Four Square Trophy and evil laugh mislead you, he's got a heart of gold. Lay off. Hugs, not drugs.

Spiff- I would not take his side just yet Spiffer, lest your computer will fall victom.

Fish- Thanks buddy. I already knew how to do it one-by-one, but I have like 1000+ songs and I was wondering if I can change them all back at once. I already did the Apple+A to change the start times all back to 0:00. But the end time are proving much more difficult.

Gator- I know with every word I write on the subject, you gain more power. So I'll stop...

Hula, do you have an iPod large enough to fit all your songs? If not, it's still possible but that'd save us some grief.

I don't this will work, Spidey, but you may as well try. (Although it could ruin all your songs. Hmmm.) Change all the songs endtime to some absurdly large number. Or at least a number you know is longer than the songs. Like 20:00:00, assuming you have no songs longer than twenty minutes. Follow? There's a possibility of three things happening:

1) when the songs are played, they'll end...and then be followed by 17 minutes of silence. In which case, sorry.

2) when the songs end, they'll just end and iTunes will recognize that there's no more song there. (It also might, from word go, understand your point and detect the songs' endtimes.)

3) Nothing. Gator wins.

Jav, I think you were typing faster than you were thinking in the first line there. Oh and you also forgot "Gator wins." after options 1) and 2).

This is exactly how G8R likes it - defending himself from the onslaught of everyone. Make you feel like a big kid again there bucko?

With 957 songs on my PC and a new 4GB black nano, yes, my iPod is large enough to fit all my songs. :)

Jav- Yeah, Gator won as soon as I did the original post.

Jav and Fish- I tried the 20:00 mins thing with one song, and it went for 20:00 mins. (I remembered the original end time and changed it back) So I'm going to have to just play them like normal and change them as I hear them.

Gator- Thanks...(for saying you care and for the thought and time put into screwing with me.)

Race- I like him too. I just try to keep my eye on him. (So should you!)

Hula- Good luck

Chilly- I miss your face

Race- Still around?

Spidey - try removing the songs from your itunes and then readding to your itunes. make sure not to delete the file while removing the songs. that'd be the best bet. or just eff up gator's computer with something really unfixable like a bat or brick. it won't fix your computer, but revenge is sweet.

Hello all I would like to make my entrance to the Blog to say this...

HA HA HA HA!!

I was there when Gator and such tampered with the computer...

I was there when Spidey told us the problem with his iTunes

I was there when Spidey wouldn't just ask Gator to fix it...because he was too busy ranting about how evil Gator was.

I was there when...I saw Gator's smirk...that proved he had "the power"

sigh!! I love that you guys live in the same town...HOURS OF LAUGHTER!!! Who needs a TV!

Oh and also: Good call, Matt. Reimporting them might just do the trick. (Unless the time is connected to the id3 tags. Oooohh...suck.)

Also: "a bat or a brick." HA! Such an obvious retort, but so damn funny.

Also: if you ever do this to my music, Gator - I'm not kidding here - I'll punch you in the face. If I can't reach, I'll punch you somewhere else. Regardless, I'm drawing blood or piss.

Hula, this is a little confusing but by far the easiest way to transfer all your playlist, song counts, ratings, etc., to a different computer.

The jist is that you "Enable Disk Use" on your iPod so it's like a huge thumb drive. Then you drag the "iTunes" folder out of \Documents and Settings\Hula\My Documents\My Music\ on your pc over to /Users/Hula/Music on your MacBook.

If this isn't working out for you, I can probably talk you through it over the phone. You could just bring your laptop up to Scotts Valley, but my track record with friends' laptops has been a bit spotty lately.
