Ryan's girlfriend gets mad at him and starts walking away at a rate of 1 mph. Ryan runs after her 1 hour later at a rate of 3 mph. How long does it take Ryan to catch up?

I think a smarter choice would have been for Ryan to play guitar with a cowboy hat and needy sign for passerbys for an hour and then buy a car with the massive profit to chase after her.
