Prayer request

Mom is in the hospital with a temp. of 103 deg. My sister is in Arizona and is freaking out. My Aunt is no where to be found, and it's dead week. I'll be running on fumes by morning.

Things to pray for:

>That I can handle this and finals.
>Mom recovers with no permanate damage.
>My Aunt will call one of us back my morning.
>I can get some desent amount of sleep this week.

Hey DC Fam!

Spidey left me a voicemail message about an hour ago and wanted me to update all of you on the status of his mom. He’s been spending most of his time at the hospital and hasn’t had internet access. I’m not very fluent when it comes to medical lingo so please bear with me…

Her sudden fever was a result of an infection. She’s been in the hospital ever since. The infection caused an excessive amount of bacteria to invade her heart. Bacteria in her heart is now almost completely gone, but she’ll still need to have surgery to fix the damage caused by the infection. Her kidneys have also been weakened. The doctors are waiting to perform the surgery until her kidneys have recovered (please pray they’ll get stronger soon). Mentally, she’s conscious, but unable to speak. There doesn’t appear to be permanent damage at this time (praise report! :) ).

Spidey’s sister, from Phoenix, and aunt have been with him. All of his professors have been really understanding about him missing finals (praise report! :) ), so it’s been great that he’s able to be there for his family right now. I know he appreciates all the prayers and kind thoughts. Please continue to pray as you are led.

Hey guys I'm on-line for what will be the last time for a while. It's a mixed bag when it comes to Mom. I'm hoping she can have life altering operation. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. I'm still working on the Slideshow project. (It helps to get my mind on something else)!

I got to "talk" to her today. It was kind of a one sided conversation though. But it felt good when I asked her if she could hear me and she squeezed my hand and slowly nodded. She had been still and scary looking before that. The doctors weren’t sure if she was brain dead or not, so they asked my sister and I to start thinking about what to do if she was, (in other words: "pull the plug or not"). I've never felt sicker. I'm soooooo glad she's responsive! Now I don't have to entertain that thought anymore.

Now we move on to the physical aspect. The doctors and drugs are doing all they can. Just pray that God will do the rest. And while you’re at it pray for my sister Betsie. She's trying to be so strong, but it's really hard on her. Playing family liaison and diplomat sucks on top of this. I'm really proud of her.

Thanks you guys,
I love you,
Very much,
~Spidey
